Anthony F. Culmone, Jr.

Anthony F. Culmone Jr. 67 of Bogota, passed away November 1, 2021. Loving son of the late Anthony F. Culmone Sr. and Isabel Culmone of Palm Coast, FL. Devoted husband of Diane. Loyal brother of the late Jean Hostak, Dianne Bandelt, Jodi Culmone-Quinlan, Richard, and Michael Culmone. Beloved uncle of Jeffrey and Matthew Hostak, Megan Bandelt, Skylar Bracewell, Christopher, Nicholas, Dustin, Alyssa, and the late Kassidy Culmone. Anthony was a dedicated public servant, working for the City of Englewood as a Fire Inspector for 23 years as well as a Volunteer Firefighter for 41 years at the Bogota Fire Department (Hose #2), holding the position of Chief in 2006 and 2018. He was a Life Member of both the New Jersey & New York Volunteer Firemen's Association and the New Jersey State Firemen's Association, a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators and the Bergen County Fire Prevention and Protection Association. In addition, Anthony was an Advisory Board Member and Educator with the Bergen County Juvenile Fire Prevention Program. An advocate for education and the sciences, Anthony graduated from Bogota High School in 1972 to complete a B.A. at Northland College in Ashland, WI, and a M.A.T. in Biology Education at Farleigh Dickinson University. Anthony also held a Certificate in Administration & Supervision from Kean University and taught Science in the Elizabeth Public Schools. Anthony was also a decorated Eagle Scout. Donations may be sent to the CarePlus Foundation of Bergen County and the Bergen County Juvenile Fire Prevention Program.
