Dr. Armand F. Miranda

Dr. Armand Franklin Miranda 82 of Leonia passed away February 12, 2018. He obtained his doctorate degree from Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), where he served as Professor of Pathology for decades. After his retirement in 1995, he continued to serve as Professor Emeritus. His area of expertise was in neuromuscular disorders. He was a pioneer

in the culture of human muscle cells for diagnosis and research. He trained several doctoral and postdoctoral scholars. His friends and colleagues at CUMC will miss him dearly. He leaves behind his loving brother Frank and sisters Mavis, Carla, Orwine, Gerda and Hedy.The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8pm at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. A private cremation will follow.
