Edward V. Courtney 67 of Teaneck passed away April 22, 2020. Eddie was a decorated police officer and considered his service to be more than a job. Before retiring he was a senior investigator with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and prior to that he was a Teaneck police officer. He deeply cherished the brotherhood he shared with his fellow officers. Ed was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a former member of the Police Pipes & Drums of Bergen County. Eddie was a talented musician. Drumming was his passion. He was an accomplished drummer and loved playing with his band "The Elevens". He held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Clancy, Shadow, and Duffy. He will be remembered by his treasured friends and family for his jokes, quick wit, and generosity. Eddie loved his family above all else. He was a devoted, loving father and soulmate to his wife, Paula.
Beloved husband of Paula nee Palmeri. Loving father of Cheryl Courtney and her husband Francisco Monar and also survived by his loving step son Kevin Rebner and step daughter Lauren Rebner. Dear brother of Michael Courtney and Rita Maltese and her husband Tom. Dear brother in law of John Palmeri and his wife Karen; Rosemary Koprowski and her husband Tom and Donna Mardo. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
