Frances Arnold Fisher, 71, passed away on January 7, 2025, in Teaneck, NJ, surrounded by her devoted family. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the beauty of a well-lived journey. Frances was born in New Hampshire to Louis Arnold and Elizabeth Kivler Arnold. She spent her childhood in Union City and graduated high school in Bogota, NJ. She studied literature at Douglass College, Rutgers University and later went to FDU to earn a Master’s in Global Finance, where she also studied Arabic and French. She pursued a career in banking, which brought her to her great love, Colin, at a British colleague's going away party. Frances eventually left her career to embrace the role she cherished most—raising her children. Frances was incredibly smart, curious about the world and concerned about the people around her. She was a voracious reader, a seasoned traveler, a dedicated community servant, and a lifelong Girl Scout. She enjoyed taking her family to museums of all kinds, ballet, theater, opera and live music. She also had a remarkable green thumb, like her father, who was her hero, and her love for gardening was reflected in the vibrant, flourishing spaces she created for her children and grandchildren. Above all, Frances cherished the family she was born into and the family she made. She was the best friend to her younger siblings Lois, Janice and Louis ("Bo"). Frances was an amazing, loving wife for over 44 years to Colin, devoted mother to Victoria and Michael, a second mother to her son-in-law Gregory, and the greatest Gramma of all time to Theodore and Lilith. Frances filled her loved ones’ lives with warmth, adventure, and unconditional love. Frances faced the challenges of her final years with bravery and grace. Even in the hardest moments, her selflessness shone through, reminding everyone of the power of a life rooted in love.
