Jose C. Pontejos

Jose was a man of many things, kindness, generosity, willingness, helpfulness, and humor. He was a simple man who was happy with his can of sardines and rice. A free spirited soul who took every situation and brought out the bright side no matter how hard things were. Jose was a family man who valued togetherness, forgiveness and family time over everything. He always took the time to help others, to teach others, he was the epitome of patience. He was a man who showed the value of hard work and the enjoyment that life had to offer. Jose brought life into the room by radiating his kindness and humor among others. As we move forward,  we continue to celebrate the life that he had and remember that his remembrance lives within us.
He is survived by his loving wife Corazon and his devoted children Harriet Amante and husband Joel; Ferdinand and wife Mary; and Jennifer Schrock and husband Rob. He is the loving grandfather of Dylan, Aries, Olivia, Kae and Krisllaneh. All will meet at our Lady of Mercy RC Church, Park Ridge, Saturday morning at 11, for the Funeral Mass. Entombment will follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Washington Twp. Visiting Friday 4-8:30pm.
