Julio “Jay” Feliciano, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 13, 2023. Jay, to all who knew him, was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, and moved with his parents and siblings to New York City at the age of 5. Jay served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietman War from 1969 – 1971 and was stationed in Okinawa. After his marriage in 1971, he and his wife spent the early years of their marriage in Guttenberg, NJ and North Bergen, NJ. In 1982, Jay moved with his family to Bogota, New Jersey, where he resided for over 40 years. Soon after the family moved to Bogota, Jay served on the Bogota Rescue Squad for several years. In recent months, Jay served as an Usher at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Bogota.
Of all the things Jay loved to do, he loved spending time with his family the most – this included going to sports games, going to the movies, and going to the beach. He especially loved the family trips to Disney. In addition, he enjoyed playing dominoes with family and friends, working out at the YMCA, playing racquetball, drawing and painting, and listening to his favorite music.
Jay is survived by his beloved wife, Helen, his loving daughters, Leilani and Courtney, his son-in-law, Adam, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents, his sister, and one brother.
Jay was our hero and will be extremely missed by all who knew him.
