Malcolm J. Woods

Malcom J. Woods, affectionately known as Mac, died on February 9th, at Holy Name Medical Center after contracting COVID-19. Mac grew up in the Bronx, NY with his mother Mary, father Joseph, sister Gerry and brother Joe until the family relocated to New Jersey. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in 1956. Malcolm worked as a homicide detective sergeant in the Bergen County Sheriff's office for twenty five years until his retirement in 1996 He was always generous with family and friends. He was a member of The Honor Legion of the Police Departments of the State of New Jersey. He is survived by his sister Geraldine Moran and her daughters Mary Brazier and Catherine Moran and by nephew Donald Woods and niece Stephanie Dhue. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe and his companion of 45 years Katherine E. Putnam. A private service will be held at a later date.
