Maureen A. Avon

Maureen A. Avon, (nee Moriarty) 74 of New York City, passed away peacefully January 2, 2021. Born and raised in NYC to Julia Donahue (deceased). Beloved mother of her true love, pride and joy, son Dennis A. Avon, of Ramsey New Jersey (formerly of New York City) and the loves that made her home her happy place, her pets, Cat Harley and Cockatiel Allie. Maureen had a vibrant love and blessed with those that became her family Lisa Setticase, Joe and Teresa Sorice and Joe and Lori Bonavito. Maureen had a deep connection with her dear friends who surrounded her with love Todd Seagall, Julie Vazquez, Carman Adorno and neighbors of 46 years, Roger and Rita Berdhal and Fran Savastano. She loved animals, the outdoors and visiting her son on his Boat during the summer months. Maureen was a lifelong resident of New York City. She worked as a Human Resource Executive at Golden Books in NYC, prior to changing careers to become a Physical and Wellness Trainer. She received her Physical Trainer certification and worked at New York Sports Club until she created her own business, Body Advantage, training her New York City Clients at their homes. Maureen had a passion for the wellness and fitness world. Even up to her last days, Maureen loved working out and being active, fit and strong. We will honor and pay our respects on Friday, Jan 8, 2021, 3pm to 8pm, at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 9, 2021, 11:30 at Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River, NJ, In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA or the Humane Society in Memory of Maureen A. Avon.
