Pauline Mcguire

October 7, 1938 — April 19, 2020

Pauline Adele McGuire (nee Kaskie) 81, was embraced by the Lord on April 19, 2020. An incredibly tough woman who raised 4 children alone after her late husband Leo was taken from her all too soon. “Sissy” as she was known growing up in hardscrabble Shenandoah, PA came to Paterson at 16 to find work, eventually met her husband Leo and married at 18. Their children, Leo, the late Patty Townshend, Helen Gomez, and Kelly John were the result of that union.  The family moved to Bogota in 1971 and her husband passed away late in 1979. Undaunted, Sissy got her GED then proudly graduated dental assistant school at FDU, all while working at Davis Pools in Teaneck. She was the Queen of Cedar Lane, well known, well liked, and a devoted friend to all who knew her. She eventually worked at Shop-Rite and retired as a member of UFCW Local 1262.

Pauline was predeceased by her twin brother, Francis Kaskie and her dear parents Frank and Helen. She is survived by her younger brother Carl and sister Diane (Joseph) Payne.  She adored her grandchildren, Erin (McGuire) Mericle, Taylor (Gomez) Sabba,  Aileen McGuire, Dustin Gomez, Nicole Townshend, and Renee (Townshend) Buckley. Pauline was a very proud great-grandmother to Paisley Sabba and Beau Buckley and never stopped talking about them.

Services will be private for the family at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota on Tuesday, April 28th.
