Regina A. Carr

November 27, 1948 — April 21, 2020

Regina Adele Carr (nee Aurich), 71, of Paramus, NJ (formerly of Bogota, NJ), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband James J. Carr Jr. (in 2012), the love of her life, whom she adored building a life with in Bogota. As the beloved mother of Deborah (and Marc) Miraglia and Christine (and Daniel) Weimer, Regina was a constant part of her girls’ lives and all of their activities growing up.  She especially enjoyed the many friends she made while raising her daughters in Bogota, the friends she made as a Band parent, and those she made while working the concession stand at  Bogota Bucs football games. Regina looked forward to helping Debbie set up her classroom each year before school started. She adored visits with her two grandchildren, Grace and Patrick Weimer.  In addition to her family life, Regina spent several years as a volunteer EMT with the Bogota First Aid Squad.  She built an impressive 52 year career with Sears, working at the company’s warehouse in Maywood, NJ. Having retired in October of 2018, she looked back fondly at the time spent and friends made there. However, in her retirement, Regina still kept up her joy of loving  the Bogota community - from her friends at the diner to her amazing extended family.  She was the loving sister-in-law of Jean (and Philip) Pappas, Thomas (and Barbara) Carr, Kate Carr, Kevin (and Susan) Carr, Dennis (and Gayle) Carr, John (and Rocio) Carr, Elizabeth (and Walter) Mitze, William (and Diane) Carr.  Regina is also survived by her sister Georgette (and George) Bontya; as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and a group of close friends who were family to her. Regina will be remembered as a happy person who greeted you with a smile and a laugh.  We know she would want to share one last message, just as she ended every call with Chris: “Tell everyone I love them, and give that puppy a pat on the head”. We appreciate all who will remember her with us, and ask that you pass along her warm smiles and positivity.  And, if so inclined, make a donation in her memory to the Tomorrows Children’s Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center. We will have a private family memorial once we can gather again to celebrate her life.
