Rosa Maria del Carmen Bauza Calle’ Aguilu, 89 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 28, 2023 at Christian Health in Wyckoff NJ. Rosita, to all who knew her was born in Robledo, Medellin Columbia, she moved to Puerto Rico with her family at age 15. After her marriage in 1961 she moved to the United States where she made her home in Clifton NJ.
Rosita was a devout Catholic and seriously contemplated a religious life in her early 20’s. She prayerfully practiced her faith for continued hope and strength each day. She was a giving and kind person. She was soft spoken and gentle. She was compassionate and loyal to those she loved. She had an artistic flair in everything she did. She was a talented seamstress and loved to crochet, making beautiful detailed baby booties and blankets for family and friends and their loved ones. She was deeply grateful for all that she had and received in this life no matter how small. She always expressed her gratitude with personal written notes, letters and handmade gifts embellished with details that only showcased her talent.
She loved writing letters and staying in touch with old friends, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She treasured their correspondence and would keep them all to read over and over. She was an avid, die hard NY Mets fan and looked forward to every baseball season. Her knowledge of the game and quick reference to statistics always impressed and surprised all who dared to talk baseball with her. She loved animals and nurtured many litters of kittens that she lovingly found homes for and happily kept those that remained. Her love for all things chocolate could only be matched by her favorite color purple and an unwavering strength in a life that presented many challenges.
Rosita is survived by her loving family: Beloved Siblings: Jose Roberto and wife Doris and Carmen Elizabeth “Betty”, Children, Beatriz Bauza, Myrna Bruno and husband Michael and Eric David Bauza, Grandchildren: Adrian Luis Perez, Alex Gabriel Perez and wife Macy Rae Rosado and Michael Nicholas Bruno, Great Grandchildren: Marcus Hannah, Alex Gabriel Perez Jr and Mylene J’Nessa Rosado Perez.
She is predeceased by her brother, Luis Alfonso and Sister Carmen Maria “Myriam”. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her but especially by her children and family. We find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her adored Mother, Father and siblings and at peace in Heaven.
