Samuel Castro

Samuel Castro, 69 of Hackensack (formerly Lodi) passed away on February 14, 2025. Born in Puerto Rico, he was a devout Catholic. Sam was a truck driver for 46 years and traveled across the country including Canada. In his later years Sam volunteered for the local Lodi food pantry and was on their board of directors. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Eileen Castro (née Brugger), loving daughter Samantha Dillon (née Castro) and her husband John, late son Robert, adored grandchildren John Robert and Gabrielle, and siblings Luis (Pete), Evelyn, John, Freddy, Linda, Madeline, Hector, and Tammy. He is also survived by all of his sister/brother in laws, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Sam loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing and crabbing, and going down the shore.
