Richard Koop

Richard Koop, 49, of Bogota passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Born and raised in Ridgefield Park, he was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman, and music fan with a great sense of humor. He will always be loved and remembered by his family and dear friends; he will be deeply missed. Richard was a devoted son to Gisela Koop; proud and loving father of Jake Koop from his marriage to Danielle DeBouter; cherished brother of Peter Koop and his wife Allison, sister Rosemarie Koop-Angelicola and her husband Steve; adoring uncle to Elsa Koop-Angelicola, Erika Koop-Philbin and her husband Liam, and great-uncle to Sadie, who fondly referred to him as “Gruncle.” Richard was preceded in death by his father Bruno Koop (1972) and nephew Zachary Koop (2016). Services will be held at Petrik Funeral Home, 140 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, NJ, Saturday December 15, 2018 from 3pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory can be made to an education fund for his son Jake Koop, by way of Peter or Allison Koop. (More information will be available at the services.)
